Taiwan Trip:

We are planning a trip to Taiwan December 2011. The departure date is Monday, December 19th, 2011. We will return January 5th, 2012

The deadline for applying to participate in this trip is October 15, 2011. The cost is $1000 plus airfare.

Taiwan Occupational Therapy Students to Visit Indianapolis

A group of occupational therapy students from Kaohsiung Medical University will visit RESOURCE Foundation in Indianapolis in July, 2011. They will be learning about community practice as they visit wih occupational therapists at summer camp, home health agency, assisted living facility, homeless shelter and other community sites. They will also experience American culture by visitiing museums, attending a baseball game and trying some of our typical cuisine.

Tajikistan Visitors


Resource Foundation Inc. hosted five physicians from Tajikistan in the Open World Leadership program in a visit to Indianapolis to examine issues related to maternal and child health April 18-25, 2009. These delegates visited First Steps of Central Indiana, The Julian Center, St. Vincent Women's Hospital and Clarian North Medical Center as well as other local programs for women and children and other sites of cultural interest to the delegates. They were hosted by local families.


The visiting delegates were: Dr. Barbigul Baratova, Deputy Chief of Staff for Children's Health and Obstetrics, Kurgan-Tube City Hospital; Dr. Abdugafor Boboyev, Head of Statistics Department of the Regional Department of Health, Neonatology, Khatlon Kulyab Provincial District Department; Dr. Alisher Kabirov, head of the Health Department, Kulyab Provincial District, Khatlon; Dr. Abdullo Saidov, Neonatologist, Central District Hospital and Dr. Farishtamo Salikhova, Director of Reproductive Health Center. Malika Jurakulova accompanied the delegates as a facilitator.


The delegates learned about occupational therapy services related to early intervention through their visit to First Steps of Central Indiana and welcome a visit to Tajikistan by occupational therapists to assist them to establish early intervention in their region.
