NEWS AND CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE ABROADUkraine Trip:We are planning two more trips to Ukraine. The first is from May 12 to May 21, 2010. The land travel cost for this trip will be $1000. This will cover accommodations, meals, and transportation within Ukraine. Participants will need to arrange for their own air transportation to and from Kiev. The second Ukraine trip is scheduled for September 10 to September 26, 2010. The land travel cost for this trip will be $1500. The land travel cost will cover accommodations, meals, and transportation within Ukraine. Participants will need to arrange for their own air transportation to and from Kiev. Taiwan Trip:We are planning a trip to Taiwan December 26, 2009-January 5, 2010.
*Note: Airfare is subject to change during Christmas holiday season. **Participant(s) who is making his/her own air travel arrangement to Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), Taiwan from their home MUST coordinate flights with RESOURCE Foundation, Inc. BEFORE making a final booking for airport pick up/drop off. A check of $350 U.S. dollars deposit due at the time of registration to reserve air ticket, accommodations, and local transportation. A final payment of $2,650 U.S. dollars will be due in advance of the trip. Please contact us for the date the final payment must be made. Preliminary Travel Itinerary:
* culture, lifestyle and meaningful occupations of living on an island Tajikistan VisitorsResource Foundation Inc. hosted five physicians from Tajikistan in the Open World Leadership program in a visit to Indianapolis to examine issues related to maternal and child health April 18-25, 2009. These delegates visited First Steps of Central Indiana, The Julian Center, St. Vincent Women’s Hospital and Clarian North Medical Center as well as other local programs for women and children and other sites of cultural interest to the delegates. They were hosted by local families. The visiting delegates were: Dr. Barbigul Baratova, Deputy Chief of Staff for Children’s Health and Obstetrics, Kurgan-Tube City Hospital; Dr. Abdugafor Boboyev, Head of Statistics Department of the Regional Department of Health, Neonatology, Khatlon Kulyab Provincial District Department; Dr. Alisher Kabirov, head of the Health Department, Kulyab Provincial District, Khatlon; Dr. Abdullo Saidov, Neonatologist, Central District Hospital and Dr. Farishtamo Salikhova, Director of Reproductive Health Center. Malika Jurakulova accompanied the delegates as a facilitator. The delegates learned about occupational therapy services related to early intervention through their visit to First Steps of Central Indiana and welcome a visit to Tajikistan by occupational therapists to assist them to establish early intervention in their region.
